Buster Faidley

Nomination for Buster Faidley to the Tennessee Turkey Hunters Hall of Fame:
I am sure that the following letters will accurately describe and show the outstanding
sportsman/hunter, caller, and man Buster Faidley is to chapter, but my letter is about his heart and what
I have had the great pleasure to witness and experience. Growing up in the turkey world is like having
multiple father figures and brothers that have been with me through good and bad times and have
surrounded me with love and protection. In the beginning I started coming around to spend time with
my dad and was quickly introduce to Buster. Many years ago he sat on the stairwell with me and taught
me how to use a push pin box call for the Tennessee State Junior Calling Contest. He took time away
from his plans that day to teach me and then supported and cheered me own while I was on the stage.
Even though I didn’t win, Buster still made me feel like a champion. Buster has a unique way of making
the person he is talking to or helping feel so important. I was lucky enough to grow-up with Buster in
my home chapter. He took care of me when my dad was out and about at events and always making
sure that I was okay. He has given countless hours to helping young people learn, respect, and fall in
love with the sport of turkey hunting.
Our chapter has been blessed to have members achieve this great honor of induction and I am sure that
both my dad and Jim Arthur would champion this nomination. Buster serves our community and the
conservation of the wild turkey not for recognition but because it is what he loves. I am lucky to have a
man as wonderful in my life as Buster that has truly taken up my dad’s words “you see that girl right
there, she is mine. While I am gone take care of her.” Having people like Buster encourage me and
support me is one of the main reasons that I am still involved in the turkey world and have been
enveloped in the love from my turkey family. He is already Hall of Fame in my book! Thank you for you
consideration.
